This class is designed for students who are ready to take their speaking skills to the next level. Building on the basics, students now tackle more complex topics, learn how to argue both sides of an issue, and begin crafting speeches that are evidence-driven and strategically organized. Lessons include guided argument writing, structured rebuttal drills, and in-class debates on topics relevant to young people today (e.g., school policies, technology, fairness). Students are encouraged to think critically about the world around them, test out persuasive techniques, and take on leadership roles in group work and discussion.
