Appeal to Emotion
The appeal to emotion fallacy occurs when an argument is made by manipulating the audience's emotions rather than presenting logical reasoning. This tactic can be effective in swaying opinions but does not provide a solid foundation for the argument.
For instance, using heart-wrenching stories to evoke sympathy while discussing a policy issue can distract from the factual analysis. While emotions are a natural part of human decision-making, they should not replace rational discourse.
