What Do I Need To Know Before I Register My Child For a Tournament?

Before the tournament, coaches register students through online system called Tabroom, which works to tabulate the results of the tournament. Coaches manage student registration, you as the parent don’t need to directly sign up your students, yet you and your child still need to communicate to effectively strategize which tournaments your child can participate in.

Tournaments are weekend-long time commitments and have deadlines for sign-up, meaning parents and children must communicate in advance to identify which ones your child will attend.
Tournaments are also a financial commitment that includes:

·  Tournament entry fees

·  Fees to hire judges

·  Transportation fees such as gas, public transportation, ridesharing, and flights

·  Potential hotel accommodations

·  Meals and snacks for your child

·  Buying your child appropriate formal clothing

Once registered for a tournament, coaches place your child into a division based on grade level and experience.
