False Cause
The false cause fallacy occurs when a cause-and-effect relationship is assumed without sufficient evidence to support it. This fallacy can lead to misconceptions and erroneous conclusions about the relationship between events.
For example, if someone claims that since crime rates dropped after a new law was enacted, the law must have caused the decrease, they are committing a false cause fallacy. Correlation does not imply causation, and further investigation is necessary to establish a true relationship.
