Nathan Laude

Academy Class Instructor | University of Texas - Austin

Nathan competed in PF for four years at Westlake Highschool in Austin, Texas. He qualified to the TOC twice, amassing 15 bids over his two years on the national circuit. As a debater, Nathan attained bids at tournaments like Harvard, Berkeley, Glenbrooks, and Emory. Notably, he semi-finaled Berkeley, championed Hockaday, and reached octo-finals at the TOC. He was also invited to every round robin invitational his senior year, such as the Strake, Ivy Street, and California round robins. After graduating, Nathan has worked as a coach for schools like Kinkaid and Hunter, where his teams amassed 11 bids and qualified for the TOC 3 times. As a coach, he specializes in progressive argumentation and theory debates, but enjoys teaching all debate styles. Teaching debate is one of Nathan's favorite activities, as he believes it's one of the most valuable skills a student can learn. He can't wait to help students find success at CDA! Nathan is currently pursuing degrees in interpersonal communications and music performance from the University of Texas at Austin.
