Sean has spent nine years in debate as a competitor and a coach. He debated Lincoln-Douglas for four years in high school and competed in parliamentary debate for three years in college. After graduating, he spent two years coaching high school Public Forum and Policy debate. That range across formats gives him a clear sense of what makes an argument work and how to explain it to a student who is just starting out.
Outside of debate, Sean works in a research lab and shadows neurologists. In his classes, he assumes every student is excited to be there and teaches with the energy he would have wanted as a student. He wants every student to leave each class with a skill they can use in debate and in everyday life, whether that's speaking with confidence, organizing their thoughts, or listening well.
