Aryan Sethi will be attending the University of Toronto this fall. In Public Forum, he peaked at 5th in the country and qualified to the Tournament of Champions three times, reaching elimination rounds. He placed 5th and 10th at the NCFL Grand National Tournament (a two-time qualifier), semifinaled at Bronx, and quarterfinaled at the National Speech and Debate Season Opener. At the Princeton Classic, he reached quarterfinals while earning 2nd and 5th Speaker awards, and he made finals at the Pennsbury Falcon Invitational. He has also collected bids at tournaments including Blake, Harvard, and the Digital TOC, and is both an NSDA National Qualifier and a three-time NDCA Qualifier.
On the Massachusetts circuit, Aryan has had tremendous success: he is the current PF State Champion and has won countless local tournaments. Beyond PF, he has competed in LD with similar results, drawing on a broad arsenal of arguments that includes Kritiks.
As a coach, Aryan has worked primarily with PF and LD debaters since his sophomore year. Over the past season alone, his students accumulated 27 bids. He is comfortable across every phase of debate but specializes in answering Kritiks, technical substance strategy, judge and panel adaptation, and lay debate.
