Academy Class Coach | University of Houston

Lydia Wang is an accomplished competitive debater and coach with seven years of experience across the high school and college circuits. As a high school competitor at Sammamish High School, she earned six career bids to the Tournament of Champions in Lincoln-Douglas debate, qualified for the NSDA National Championship three times, and was invited to both the Harvard and Harrison Round Robins. She carried that success into college at the University of Houston, where she advanced to the Top 32 at the Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament and earned the Hibbler Debate Scholarship for academic and competitive excellence. Since moving into coaching — at The Kinkaid School, Vanguard Debate, and numerous summer programs — Lydia has guided students to over 30 TOC bids in three years, working with debaters of every age and experience level. She specializes in policy-style and kritikal argumentation, with additional experience competing and coaching theory and philosophical debate.
