Oliver Alferness

Oliver debated at The Nueva School. He won the TOC, Bronx, MinneApple, UKSO (2x), the California Round Robin, Ivy Street Round Robin, and the Peach State Classic, and made it to late elimination rounds and earned speaker awards at other National Circuit tournaments. As a competitor, Oliver thought most about critical debate, with a particular focus in continental philosophy, but he also spent time working on lay and technical policy debate. As a coach, Oliver emphasizes deep research, iteration, and collaboration. Above all, he values argumentative creativity and innovation; he's excited to coach students on the arguments that bring them joy!
